2013 Medical Mission - Two Weeks and Counting
Our 55 member volunteer team is headed to Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines in just under 2 weeks to provide free surgical correction for impoverished children inflicted with cleft lip and cleft palates. We are excited to take such a large and dedicated team this year as we are expanding our services and providing more care to our patients and to the local community we visit. These additional services include a speech therapy program, dental education program in the local schools and participating in several community service activities within Roxas. We also have a small dental team joining us this year to evaluate the possibility of a dental program along side our cleft program. There are so many dental issues that we see just from families of our patients that we felt the need to do something for them.

Jeg har snakket med svenske logopedkollegaer som har vært ute på lignede oppdrag andre steder i verden. De har delt med meg sine erfaringer og gitt tips om metoder og materiell som egner seg å bruke i undervisning og behandling.
